"Night Car" is a personal journey through the quiet, in-between moments of the night, captured during aimless walks and drives between sunset and sunrise. The title draws inspiration from the Chinese idiom 开夜车 (kāi yè chē)—literally 'driving the night car'—a phrase commonly used to mean 'burning the midnight oil' or working late into the night. What began as fleeting observations of the suburban landscape after dark revealed a deeper connection to the way light, shadow, and color shape familiar spaces into something more mysterious and contemplative. This project is a reflection on those nocturnal wanderings and the beauty found in the stillness of the night.
